A father, a son and a workshop in Bogotá
José Linares Sr. opens Ses in Bogotá, making bags, notebooks, shoes, jackets, belts and wallets.
Ses opens a showroom in New York City.
José Linares Jr. brings Ses to Etsy, and orders start shipping worldwide.
The father designs and makes. The son runs the shop and talks to customers.
“El cuero vive” is a Spanish expression. It means “the leather lives.” My father has said it for more than forty years, because the leather he uses keeps changing after it leaves the workshop. Like a good wine, it gets better with age.
Since 1975, every Ses product has been made by hand in Colombia with Colombian materials. We make each piece to order, so nothing sits in a warehouse, and we can adjust a size, a colour or an embossed name for you.
Our main focus is the two products customers love most: agendas and Arwaks loafers. We also make bags, wallets, passport cases and belts, and we still take custom orders for anything else in leather.
